Welcome to cHALO.
This part needs some text which I don’t have yet, but it’s a general introduction into cHALO. We should also include a bit of information about donating.

Welcome to the collaborative Hubs of Academic Learning Organisations (HALO) programme.
Our central purpose is to provide excellent healthcare education and delivery strategies in emergency care especially for low resource settings. We also want to make education and training fun for all!
Our mission is to educate and empower healthcare professionals, leveraging innovative strategies, to improve healthcare delivery in low resource settings so that we can help reduce avoidable death and disability.
cHALO is an emerging ’not for profit’ initiative run by CAILTEC and based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in collaboration with international partners and faculty. In 2021 we formed the South Asian Collaborative for EMergency care (SACEM), bringing together the national EM organisations of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to help share good practices, learning and better coordinate education and training in emergency care.
South Asia is home to 1.8billion people, one in 5 people on the planet live there. Yet there are less than 3,500 trained emergency physicians on the sub continent. Safe emergency healthcare remains fragile and elusive for far too many people.
We want to help improve that.
Our vision is to develop cHALO Centres throughout South Asia that can provide high quality healthcare through continuous education and innovation.
We are committed to ensuring that the cHALO Programme will have equity, innovation, sustainability and empowerment of local teams at its very heart.
If you want to know more and join our cHALO programme as a Faculty member or a student, we would love to hear from you.
